Oral hygiene is the practice of keeping the mouth and teeth clean to prevent dental, and other health problems, most commonly, dental cavities, gum disease and bad breath.

Good oral hygiene will help to prevent plaque build-up and tartar, which can lead to tooth decay. This in turn can cause gum disease, caries and periodontal disease. Severe gum disease causes at least one-third of adult tooth loss.

Taking good care with daily brushing and flossing will help to keep your mouth clean and healthy.

Regular professional cleaning carried out by a dental hygienist is a must to ensuring your mouth stays clean and healthy.

A trip to the dental hygienist regularly can ensure the health of your teeth and gums allowing you to keep your teeth for a lifetime.
